At tho District Court to-day a singular case is proceeding. A family named Thom uro suing Lowis Bowden, a local grocer, for £225 for damage, suffering and loss occasioned by the sale and consumption of poisoned rolled oats. Counsel for plaintiffs, in opening, said tbero was no negligence alleged, but if defendant lost tho case lie hau a claim on someone else. A tin seuied by tho doctor contained part of a bag of 51l> of rolled oats of the 11 K.” brand. Tho family used the oats four or five timos. Each time they became ill, and did not know tho cause. Dr Gibbs took away samplos, and analysed them. He produced them in Court. The case is proceeding.
