Charles Guthrie, sheriff of Ross, is appealing for funds for the bonefit of the widow of tho lato Sir Hector Macdonald and the education of his son. He announces that the War Office is giving the maximum allowance possible to tho widow and son of an otlicor of General Macdonald’s rank. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. At a mooting of Scotsmen to night it was decided that a Hector Macdonald Memorial Fund be established in Welling'ton. A committeo was appointed to administer the fund.
