MORERE.

The annual meeting of householders residing in cho school district of Morere was held in the school-room on Monday evening, The attendance was small. Mr Shaw was elected chairman of the meeting. The annual report and statement of accounts woro read and adopted, the balance-sheet showing a credit balance of about ,£27. The Inspector’s report on the school was considered satisfactory. The following householders wore elected members of” the school committee for the ensuing year :—Messrs Carswell, Tait, Shaw, °Dyett, J. Keynolds, and N. McIntyre. At a meeting of the committee hold tho same evening Mr Shaw was elected chairman of the school committee. It was resolved that tenders should be invited for the work of keeping the school clean for the period of twelve months. The chairman was authorised to write to tho Education Board re plan for shelter shed to be erected on the schoolground, also to procure timoer for same. The matter of repairing tho boundary fence of the school ground and procuring a supply of firewood for tho use of tho school was left in the hands of Messrs Shaw and Tait. On tho motion of Mr Mclntyre, it was resolved that the sum of TO bo handed to Miss Siddelisfor past services as caretaker of tho school, it was proposed by Mr lvcynolds, seconded by Mr Tait and carritd, •* That Mr J. Ivicbardson be nominated for a seat on tho school committee.” Mr McDonald, the selector of fat stock for the Gisborne breezing Works, lias paid a visit to tiij district, ami a large number of sheep are now being driven to the Works. The sheep in this locality .have improved very much in condition during the past mouth, and it is anticipated tho selector will be required in the district 1 again shortly.
