ADDINGTON MABKET.

There were fair yardings and a good attendance at the Addington market today. l'at cattle: The entry of 150 consisted principally of cows and heifers. The demand was keener than usual, and prices were consequently higher than recent rates. Steers Drought from A’B 10s to £lO 15s, heifers LG 7s 6.1 to .£8 10s, cows £4 17s Gd to £7 7s 6J, beef 27s to 80s per lOOibs. Eat sheep : There was a large yarding which comprised a fair proportion of prime wethers and good quality ewes, but many of the pens were Ailed with half-fat ewes, and for these demand was poor, and ,1 lagging sale resulted. Butchers and export buyers competed keenly for wethers, which maintained late rates, but in ewes there was a drop of fully Is per head. The late hour at which the sale concluded tended to injure the market. Tho range of prices was —freezing wethers 10s 3d to 19s Id, extra heavy to 20s sd, best butchers' ewes lGs to 18s, medium 12s Gd to 15s Gd, freezing ewes lls 3d to 16s 9d, others 8s 3d to 12s. J.’at lambs: There was a fair yarding, tbe entry numbering about 2000, but as butchers aro now restricting their purchases of iamb, prices have suffered in consequence. To-day a drop of equal to. 9d per head, compared with the previous week’s rates, was shown. Tegs realised up to 15s 2d, freezers 9s 6d to 15s Id, Butchers’ 9s 6d to I4s 3d. Pigs: There was a small yarding, and the "weeding tendoncy of the market, shown at recent sales, was again noticeable. Bacons brought from 43s to 57s 6<3, equal to 4jd per lb ; porkers, 32s to obs, equal to from 5d to old per lb ; stores, l 18s to 255; slips, 12s to 16s; weaners, 5s i to 10s.
