DUNEDIN SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. The Supreme Court was engaged to-day with the appeal in the Majorian-Daffey case, Dailey having appealed against the decision ttiat Mujorion had been supplied with liquor while in an intoxicated state, Mr. Justice Williams gave his reserved decision to-day in a ease iu which a writ ot prohibition was sought to prevent further proceedings in a case in which the Magistrate gave a decision in favor of tile Lady Roxburgh Gold Dredging Company for calls. Objection was taken that in the plaint note no place- of abode was stated, plaintiff being merely described as Lady
Roxburgh Goid Dredging Company, Ltd. His Honor said that it was a matter of regret that the language of the statute
made so trivial a matter one of fundamental importance, but us it did so he had no alternative but to order the writ to be issued. As tho plaintiff, however, had followed the usual practice which had never before been called into question, there would be no costs.
