Tho Emir of Kano, with 1200 horse and 2000 foot, attacked a mounted patrol of 44 of tho West African force under Lieut. Wright ut Kotukoross. Lieutenant Wright formed a squaro zu.roua of dense thorns, and repulsed ten charges, killing 000, including 11 chiefs. Unp Britisher was hit. Only 00 ruunds of ammunition woro loft when the onomy fled.
