SATISFACTORY RETURNS. Per Press Association^ Wellington, last night.
During the quarter ended March 31 tho total revenue of the Post and Telegraph Department was £141,606, of whicti tho post office yielded £93,359, and the telegraph office £48,217. The receipts in Wellington were £22,978 ; Auckland, £17,217 ; Christchurch, £13,487 ; Dunedin, £11,319. The quarter’s revenue shows an excess of £26,500 over the first quarter of last year. During the quarter £1,443,835 was deposited in the Post Office Savings Banka, and £1,349,242 withdrawn, the exe-sj-v of deposits over withdrawals amounting to £94,592.
