Steers brought Jcti BE toiilO 7s Od, boilers .I*s os to Eli 7s 6.1, cows Mo os to XTO 12s. Beef ruled at from 2 Is to 27s per lOOibs.

Fat sheep : The entry was smaller than has been the case recently, but included a fair proportion of prime quality ewes and wethers. There was keen competition all round. Best ewes were fully a shilling dourer than last week, and wethers were linn at late rales. The range of prices was : Wethers, extra heavy 18s 9d to 20s, freezing 16s to 18s Od, wethers and maiden ewes Ids Id to 17s lid ; owes, freezing Ids to 16s, butchers 10s to 17s lOd, extra heavy to 19s Id, merino wethers 10s od to 15s 6cl

Fat lambs : There was an average yarding, comprising several large lines suitable for export. For all good sorts there was a brisk demand ut late rates. Freezers brought from 12s -Id to 1-ls, tegs to 15s 3d, butchers' 9s od to 14 > 9d. Bigs: There was a largo yarding, including a consignment of stores from Waikato district. They were of better quality than tiiose entered from same locality a few weeks ago. but met with very poor demand. Fat pigs sold butter, but the market is weakening. Baeoners brought from 45s to 50s, equal to ftom 4,1 d m Od per lb ; porkers 30s to 38s, equal to Old per lb, stores 20s to 20s, medium 15a to I‘Js, wonners 8s to 13s.
