ITAWERA, last night

The WaendongoL'o river will shortly he used for generating electricity tor 'light and power to supply several towns and surrounding districts'. About 5,20 horse-power will ho installed immediately, and when this is working the plant will he increased to 700 horse-power. The whole of the work from the turbines to the house and wiring has been placed in the hands of Messrs Stcuart and Fcmi, of Auckland and Dimed,-li.
