ADDINGTON MARKET.

At the Addington market to-day there was another exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep, the increase being most noticeable in fat pens. Fat cattle : 235 were yarded. The supply was in excess of the demand, and prices suffered. Steers brought £6 10s to £ll, heifers £5 15s to £8 10s, cows £5 7s 6d to £9, beef 22s to 27s 6d per 1001 b. Fat sheep : The entry, which was an exceptionally large one, comprised a greater proportion ;than usual of prime yearling wethers and ewes, and for these export buyers competed keenly, with the result that the market remained firm at last week’s quotations. The range of prices was as follows : Freezing wethers 15s lOd to 18s Bd, wethers and maiden ewes 14s 9d to 17s 7d, freezing ewes 11s to 14s 6d, best butchers’ ewes 14s to 16s Id, others 9s 3d to 13s 6d. Fat lambs : There was a large yarding and keen demand for all good quality at last week’s prices. Freezers brought 12s to 15s 9d, tegs 16s to 17s lOd, butchers’ sorts 10s 6d to 15s. Pigs: There was a large entry._BacoDers brought 45s 6d to 65s equal to 5d to sld per lb, porkers 32s to 40s equal to 51d to 6d per lb, stores 24s to 375, a consignment of 280 from Waikato meeting with spirited demand for better quality of pigs. Suckers aod weaners brougbt 10s to 15s.
