K crowd who were forbidden to enter the council chamber of the Port of Spain to protest against the adoption of the Water. Bill stoned the windows, and burnt .the Government buildings. The police fired on the mob to clear the way for the escort of the Governor and Council from the building. Several of the mob were killed, and others wounded,
The Pallas blue-jackets did invaluable work in saving the stgtion, though the mob .were still excited anti dangerous.; The Government buildings were gutled. The police barracks were damaged < Court and other priceless records were destroyed.
