The following cable has been received from the Agent-General, dated London, 21at instant:—" Mutton market firm, average price to-day of Canterbury mutton 4’d, scarce; Dunedin, Southland, and Wellington Meat, Export Company mutton 4f,d ; other North Island mutton There is a good demand for all lamb. The averago price to day of New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is 5/,d, to 6d, Now Zoaland lamb this season is giving satisfaction to buyers. The beef market is steady. New Zealand hinds 4}d, fores a 5 tid. The butter market is steady. Prime butter i 3 at 107 s per cwt. The cheese market is very firm. There is a good domand at 68s per cwt. The hornp market 13 firm in spot deliveries. The price for good, fair Wellington grade on spot to-day is £34, March to April shipments £3O 10s, quiet. The cocksfoot seed market is very dull. New Zealand 171 b standard is at 59s per cwt. At the wool sales coarse crossbreds, all grades, this week are weaker.”
