APPEAL FOR REMISSION OF
DUTY
.(Per Press Association), Wellington, last night.
The City Council in committee to-day considered tenders received for woodpaving contracts, but decided to invite fresh tenders, the specifications to be altered in accordance with the recommendations qf the City Engineer. The Customs Department having declined to accede to a request that the plant for the electric tramways should be admitted free of duty, the City Council has decided to petition Parliament on the subject.
