A SAD CASE.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The late Mr Pharazyu. news of whose death is cabled to-day, is the. only surviving son nr Mr C. J. Pluirazyn, who recently celebrated his one hundredth birthday here. He arrived in the colony with his parents in 1811. For years he was engaged in uastoral pursuits in which he met with much success. In business matters generally lie was regarded as a man of keen, sound judgment, and his affairs were understood to have prospered greatly. About twelve months ago he went to England with Ins wife and young children. Since then cable messages and letters have shown (hat lie has been interesting himself in some very large projects, including the acquiring of a vast trad of land in South Australia. It is understood that he recently under-. went a surgical operation, which, it is thought, did not prove successful, and possibly this may have led to his death. He was twice married, and has several children now in the colony.
