BOER DELEGATES.
(Per Press Association.). AUCKLAND, last night
To-day the Boer delegates visited Wellington Bars Stud barm, also me municipal buildings. They were much suuck with the ueauties of the Art Gallery, anti especially interested in Sir George Grey s collection of South African mementos. The delegates lett in the'evening by the Westralia. Before leaving, tney expressed <neat pleasure at Uieir visit to New Zealand. A BIG BURDEN. At a meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aia Board, the Chairman stated that if the Board’s finances were to he placed on a sound footing the con triuu lions of local bodies would have to be increased by onehalf of tlie amount derived from this source last year. One member said that the local bodies already found the burden too greats M NGARUAHOE CRATER. A part ascended to the crater of Ngaruahoe on Saturday. The volcano having shown signs of increased, activity lately, the whole summit was; found to be in a state of collapse. The depth of the crater is now nearly one thousand feet, and it has changed considerably since last ascended. Immense volumes of sulphurous smoke are now being emitted.
