BOWLING.
VISIT OF NAPIEB AND HASTINGS TEAMS.
Tho Committee of the Gisborno Bowling Club wero busy yesterday making arrangements for tho visit of teams from tho Napier and Hastings Clubs, which is to take place to-day. Tho Hastings Club are sending four rinks and Napier one, so that Gisborne will require fivo rinks to meet them. Play is to start at 9 a.m. sharp, and local players aro requested to bo in attendance before that hour.
The following players have been chosen to represent the local Club : —Collinge, Harding, Massoy, Ponsford (skip) ; Lewis, Naßtnith, Alartin, Simson (skip); Pettie, Adair, Hennessy, Gaudin (skip); Orr, Ferris, AlcGowan, Coleman (skip); Harris, Jackson, Quigloy, Bright (skip). The visiting teams will include the following players : —Beatson (2), Hazard, O’Reilly, Patterson, Bennett, Warren, Trimble, White, Roach, Nowbigin, Kershaw, Bristy, J. P. Smith. A social gathering is to be held at the Bowling Club’s grounds at 8 o’clock this evening, admission being by ticket only, to be obtained from tho secretary. The Rifles Band will be in attendance under the conductorship of Mr AlcKillop, and a good musical programme has been arranged. In the report of the bowling match between Sandlant, Steele, Harding, and Hennessy (skip) and Hyarn, Nathan Ambridge, and Sidebottom (skip), the former were shown as having won by a point, whereas the correct score should be in favor of Sidebottom’s team by a point.
