HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The above Society hold their Autumn Show in the Theatre Royal on Friday,

March 6th. A committee meeting to make final arrangements was held last evening, when there was a good attendance of members. Judges, class stewards, and hall committee were appointed. It was decided to oiler special prizes for the following exhibits: Collection of ferns, pot plants, cactus, dahlias, cut annuals, cut flowers, fruit, vegetables, jam, bottled fruit, and for champion pot plant and champion cactus duhliu bloom. .Special prizes have been presented by Dimock and Co., Trevithick, Hayrnan and Co., Duthio and Co., W. and G. Turnbull, and Aitkeri. Wilson and Co., all of Wellington ; and also by Gisborne breezing Works, Nelson Bros., Dalgety and Co., L. D. Nathan and Co., Geo. Grant, Dr Williams, and A. Thomson. The question of the removal of exhibits was discussed at length, several members complaining that at the Summer Show their exhibits bad been removed without their authority. It was decided not to allow any exhibit to bo removed before 10 p.m., at which hour tho Class Steward will deliver exhibits to the owner, or on a written order. The Committee are deter-

mined to put a stop to tho removal of exhibits before the close of the Show. All exhibits must be removed before noon on the day following the Show, after which hour the Committee will not he responsible for delivery.
