At a meeting of citizens to-night to debate the Borough Council’s proposal to borrow £12.000 to build municipal offices and theatre, a motion in favor of the project was carried, and a poll will he taken on the question. If the loan is secured it will ho £15,500' for the work the balance being now m hand as accrued rents of reserves. Most published opinion has been against the project as too extravagant, but the fact remains that there is no place of entertainment now available in the town.
