FOUND DROWNED

Westport, last night. The body of the man who travelled as passenger by the s.s. Mapourika under the name of Went, and was found in the Duller river on Thursday morning, has been identified as that of Tom Kannach, who has relatives at Kokatahi, near New Plymouth. At the inquest to day a verdict of found drowned was returned, and that there was no evidence to show how deceased came to get into the water.
