THE SOUTHLAND MATCH.
Per Press Association^ Invercargill, last night. The match Lord Hawke’s team v. Southland Fifteen was finished to-day in cold, squally, showery weather, which frequently interrupted play. Southland continued their second innings, and made 104, the principal scorers being : Wilson 27, Burues 22, Bowler 16. not out. Thompson took four wickets for 24, Hargreaves four for 31, Burnup three for 22, Dowson three for 16, Bosanquet one for 4. The Englishmen, with 87 to get, sent in Burnup and Johnston. The latter made 4, and got leg-before to Taylor. Burnup carried out his bat for 34. Wdatman, 12, retired to go fishing. Taylor made 18, and then got leg-before to Totally; Stanning, not out, 4.
