LIBERAL JUBILATION.
SPEECH BY THE PREMIER. Per Press Association Auckland, last night. The Premier was entertained by the Liberal and Labor Federation to-night in celebration of the Liberal victory at the recent election. In reply to a toast the Premier referred at length to the land question. He denied there had been a falling off in the Government support in the Aucklahd province, and said he was prepared to submit his Government to the verdict of the Auckland provincial district. The progressive policy of the Government during the past 12 years had done much for the colony, and the people did not want a reversal. He was glad to say that the wobblers suffered most in the recent election, and the Government was as strong as ever. In reply to the statement that the Government was a South Island Ministry, he said that Auckland had two representatives, and he hoped the time would never come when his policy would be so parochial that a man could not find admission to a Ministry unless he was from a particular part of the country. There must, he said, be no earth hunger, and if the people wanted to go on the land facilities must be provided.
