IMPORTANT COMBINATION.
MANUFACTURERS OF FARM IMPLEMENTS. By Tolograph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. A schemo of amalgamation between manufacturers of farm implements has been formally approved. The new company will bo ready to begin operations as soon as necessary. Valuations have been rnado and legal formalities completed. The paid-up capital subscribed by the parties to tho agreement will be in the neighborhood of £200,000. Tho businesses immediately concerned are those of Reid and Gray, Dunedin ; P. and D. Duncan, Ltd.; Booth. Macdonald and Co., Ltd., and Andrews Boaven, Christchurch, and the company will be open to deal with any othor firms or companies desiring to join tho amalgamation. The object of tho amalgamation is to effect economics in tho purohaso of raw materials and tho manufacture and distribution of farm implements and general machinery now handled by tho various constituent concerns. Several factories will bo conducted on much tho same lines as ut present, but there will bo a gradual reorganisation of staffs and a specialisation of departments, tho wholo boing managed from a central oflieo in Christchurch.
