Lowncs, a well-known business man at Yalgoo, received a parcel through tho post with an address, apparently in a lady’s handwriting, closely packed. This circumstance led the postal officials to surmise that it contained gold and it was therefore surcharged by registration. Lowncs opened tho box at the post offieo. A terrific explosion of golignito followed, blowing Lowncs' loft hand and forearm to pieces, and severely burning a postal assistant. Lowncs exclaimed “ This is tho work of my enemy. 1 knew it would come. He threatened to do for mo."
