MAJERONI DRAMATIC COMPANY.

It is now some years since a really firsti class dramatic company has honored ■ Gisborne with a visit, so that the announcement of the intended visit of the celebrated Majeroni Dramatic Company to the Theatre Royal on Wednesday evening will be hailed with delight by all theatre-goers. The many brilliant successes achieved by both Mr Mario and Mr George Majeroni while under the management of Mr J. C. Williamson entitles them to rank as two of the most talented and popular actors in Australasia. The company numbers twenty-six, and collectively they are the most powerful combination in New Zealand. The play which will be submitted on Wednesday evening, “ The Shamrock and the Rose,” is a romantic Irish drama by Mr Walter Reynolds, which has been received everywhere with signal success. During the remaining evenings of the season the powerfully written domestic drama “ Brother against Brother,” the absorbingly interesting and sensational drama “ Judge Not,” and the delightful society play “Jealousy " will be staged. Mr Alec Anderson will arrive here on Saturday to make final arrangements for the appearance of this splendid company. AH the original scenery and effects used in the larger centres will be brought here, as the management has decided to spare no expense, so that the plays will be mounted in the most elaborate manner. The box plan will be opened at Miller’s next Saturday. The company is at present playing to packed houses in Napier.
