New York, Jan. 25. The Germans, having newly armed and manned the ex-Venez.uolan gunboat Restaurador. she joined the blockadors at La Gunyra and anchored close in shore. This caused much indignation to the populace, who consider the employment of the gunboat was intended for tho incitement of retaliation with a view to tho continuance of the shelling of San Carlos fort. On Saturday, when two-. German warships sailed for Curagoa, the Panther still remaining, a demonstration was mado against tho Restaurador, ritlo shots from the shore causing her to retreat. She is now anchored under the protection of tho guns of the British cruiser Tribune. Washington officials strongly suspect that Gormany has ulterior aims'
Loudon, Jan. 25. The nowspapors unanimously denounce the bombardment of San Carlos and advise Great Britain to disassociate herself from Germany as soon as possible.

There is some clamor for tho immediate purchase of two Chilian cruisers building in England, while tho American naval yards are rushing tho completion of work on hand. Berlin, Jan. 26. Borlin newspapers admit that Great Britain is loyally adhering to tho alliance. They accuse tho British and American newspapers of anti-Gorman bias. London, Jan. 26. Router's agent at Maracaibo reports that the Venezuelan flag still flies ot San Carlos, despite the German declaration that tho fort was destroyed. The Panther twice tried on Thursday to pass the fort, but dosisted.
