Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, last night. The second wool sale commenced to-day. The catalogues embraced 4228 bales', which was considerably in excess of the quantity put forward at the previous sale. The prices compared with last sale show an all-’ round advance of a farthing, while better grown wools show an improvement of a halfpenny. Halfbrcd realised 53u to Sijd, fine crossbred 5?,d to 7d, coarse and medium crossbred •ltd to aid, log-stained and cotts Id to 4Ad. pieces 3td to Id, bellies up to 4Jd." One lot of merino, not cata- . lpgued, realised tld. Competition was > keen throughout.
TIMARU, last night. The second sale of the season opened this morning. Some 8776 bales Were offered. There was a large attendance of buyers, riv 1.. Home and colonial Competition was very keen for the coarser wools. The best prices were : 10 \cl merino, 9cl lialfbredsj 7.U1 threc-quar-tpr-bred, 6£d crossbred.
