PRIMITIVE METHODISTS.
(By Tolograph —Press Association.) ASHBURTON, last night. All the services at the Primitive Methodist Conference yesterday were very largely attended. A big crowd was present at a camp meeting in the Domain in the afternoon, and at the evening services in all the dissenting churches where conference ministers preached there were crowded congregations. In the Primitive Methodist Church an old-time love-feat was kept up until eleven p.m. Ashburton, last night. At tho Primitive Methodist Conference, at to-day’s sitting, it was decided to receive tho Rev. G. W. Smailcs, an exmember of the New South Wales legislature, in tho ministry of the Church. Arrangements were made for tho Roy. 1. A. Guthcry, tho foremost pulpit and platform orator of tho connection in England, to visit Now Zealand, and Mr Goldie, ot Auckland, and Mr W. King, of Dunedin, each promised £‘2s towards tho expenses Of tho visit.
