WATER POWER.
GOVERNNMENT TO OBTAIN
EXPERTS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. A deputation, headed by the Mayor, waited on the Minister of Public Works this evening to ask what steps were being taken with regard to obtaining engineers from abroad to get a report on the possibility of obtaining power from New Zealand rivers. The Minister replied that the Agent-General and a prominent American engineer had each been asked to select a suitable man, and he promised to do his best to expedite the matter. He said he thought the colony should bear the whole cost.
