GREYMOUTH RACES. [By Telegraph--Press Association.! Grejmouth, last eight. The weather was wet for the opening day, but there being a large crowd of visitors in town the attendance was very large ; if fine it would have been a record. Tha Premier and party were present, arid were entertained by the Ohio. The racier, wp.s very good, and there were some close finishes. A sum of £4617 was passed through the machine. The following were the results : Omoto Handicap.—Argyll 1. San Fom 2, Reikura 3. Time 1.30 1-5, div. £2 4s. Mawhera Hack.—Sympathy 1, Natalie 2, Capture 3. Time 1.56, div, HI 18s. Greymouth Cup.— Artillery Maid 1, Clytie 2, Cameo 3. Time 2,56, div. £6 10s. Hurdles. —Plain Stone 1, Plotu 2, Pukana 3. Time 3.48 3-5, d’.v. £2 4s. Welter.—Regulation 1, Crusader 2, Dialogue 3. Time 1.28, div. £2 2s. Paparca Hack.—Natalie and Sympathy ran a dead heat. Thoy were the only starters. Div. on Natalie £1 16s, on Sympathy 11s. Brunner Handicap.—Artillery Maid 1, Argyll 2, Abydos 3. Time 1.45 1-5, div. £2 18s. Paroa Welter.-—Regret 1, Crusader 2. The only starters. Time 1.29 1-5, div. £1 14s.
