New Year’s Hurdles.—Rufus 1, Papatu 2, Haydn, 3. Scratched: Miss Drury and Perseverance. Won by a length. Time 3.49}, divs. £3 3s and 16s 6d. Great Northern Derby. Wairiki 1, Orloff 2, Porirua 3. Northumberland, Golden Vein, and Lavalette were scratched. Won by twelve lengths. It was a popular win. Time 2.37}, divs. £2 6s and Bs. Midsummer Handicap.— King Log 1, Idasa 2, Desdemona 3.
