BAND CONTEST.
By Telegraph—Prose Association. Maatorton, last night. At a meeting of the Band Contest Committee, a letter was read from the Boocotary of the North Island Brass Bands Association, notifying tho disqualification of tho North East Valioy, Hauralu, Gisborne City, and Newton bands on account of not sending a full list of members two months boioro tho contest. Three band lists, iucludiug that of Gisborne City, wore a few days lato, and it wrs resolved to write to tho Association asking it to overoolt tho alleged broach of rules, providing ■.ho othor bauds do not object.
