CHRISTMAS BUSINESS. (Per Press Association). Wellington, last night. The Post and Telegraph Department has prepared a summary of tho Christmas business at tho seventeen principal poßt and tolegrapb offices in tho colony for the five days, December 20 to 24 inolusive. Compared with last year, tho lettors posted increased by 84,625, and books and parcel by 51,600. At the seventeen principal offices tho number of articles posted was : Lettors 071,373, books and parcels 490,034, newspapers 205,794, telegrams forwarded 44,496.
