GHASTLY’ PROCEEDINGS. MURDER AND CANNIBALISM. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Dec. dO. News from New Guinea gives a gloomy picture of the drought there. The natives are in great straits for food. They are living on roots. Dysentery is prevalent. Some natives have been eating dead bodies. A number of murders is reported. In one instance the bodies of a couple of prospectors were found. One man was pinned to the ground with a pick driven through the skull.
