Tho owner of Prisoner admitted an accidental jostle, and the stewards placed tho horses as above. The third horse was not placed by the judge. Bonett, owner of Flying Shell, the third horse, wanted to enter u protest and claim second money, but did not proceed with tho protest as his horse was not placed by the judge. Thorc was somo dissatisfaction with the decision. Timo 1.7, divs. X2 2s and XI 6s (paid on Lady Soult). She was put up, and bought in by tiie owner for X3l. Summer Meeting was concluded to-day in dull weather, rain falling in tho morning. The attendance was fair. Tho sum of X 2945 was put through tho machine for tho meeting, as compared with X 6725 last yoar. The results were Hurdles.—Southerly Buster 1, Long Tom 2, Snider 3. Won by half-a-dozen lengths. Timo 3.0 2-5, ciiv. X 3 14s. A protest against Southerly Buster for alleged interference with Long Tom was dismissed.
Welter Handicap.— Glenolg 1, First Shot 2, Tugola 3. Also started : St. Ronald, Battler, Noblesse, Kotokoto, Transport, Beauclcrc, Lady Dundas. Won comfortably by two iengtiis. Time 1.36 1 5, divs. X2 6s and X 4 4s, St. Andrew’s Handicap.—Canteen 1, Lady Lillian 2, Sirius 3. Also started : Duudas, Nihilist, Lady Rosslyn. Inside the distance Canteen passed Lady Lillian and won by four lengths. Time 3.14 2-5, div. Xu 16s.
Stephenson Memorial Stakes. St. Denis 1, Gladsome 2, Sychern 3. Also started : Gold Spur. Won by half a length. Time 1.6 1-5, div. X 3. Second Hack.—Bulluwayo 1, Cerise and Bluo 2, Koputaki 3. All started. Lolah fell. Won by two lengths. Time 1.22, divs. X 125 16s and XI 10s. There were only X2 out of X 373 on the winner. Grandstand Handicap.—Petrovna 1, First Shot 2, Cherrystone 3. Also started: Blazer and Vladimir. Tho latter whipped round at tho start and took no part in tho race. Won by a length and a half. Timo 1.20 8-5, div. X 4 2s.
Juvonilo Handicap.—Kornara 1, Crown Imperial 2, Roscommmon 8. These were tho only starters. Won by a neck. Time 1.6 4 5, div. X 3 16s. Farewell Handicap.—Ardnaff 1, Tufto 2. The only starters. Won by two lengths. Timo 1.5 2-5, div. XI ss.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Palmerston North, last night. The weather was fine for tho second day of tho Manawatu Racing Club’s meeting. Tho amount put through the totalisator was £9428. The following are the results : Summer Handicap. Rangitata 1, Ostiak 2, Whirlwind 3. Also started: Westguard, Perfection, Torowai, Laureate. Won easily by a longth. Time 1.19, dlvs. .62 14s and £2 9s. Hack Flying. Rawiri 1, Elebank 2, Fannie 3. Also started : Rajah, Opaeao Gold Purse, Siandra, Lass o’ Gowrio, Ex-, plorcr, Covenant Maid, Cruesot, Moreen, Waircro. Won oasily by a length. Time 1.21, div. £3 12s. Socond Hurdles.—Waiwera 1, Roer 2, Kohunui 3. Smithy was the other starter. Won easily. Div. £2 16s. President's Hundicap.—Convoy 1, Hinetaura 2, Ghoorka 3. All started. Won oasily by two longths. Time 2.16 1-5, divs. £'6 6s and £2 Bs. Second Hack Hurdles. Awahuri 1, Beau Ideal 2, Waitohi 3. A protest against Queen’s Guard for inconsistent running was dismissed. The stowards hold an enquiry into the running of Ostiak in tho Summer Handicap, and after examining Messrs Gordon, | Monk, Piosser, and Jenkins, decided to ;ake no aotion.
