A fatal accidont occurred yesterday to a child named Dorothy Briddon, nged three years. It seems that the child’s father was travelling to Ponsonby in an electric car. The child was playing with a doll, which fell out of the window, and the child, in looking out to see where it had gone, foil on to tho roadway before her father could prevent her. The child fell clear of the car, but rolled under tbo hind wheel. Her right arm was severed from the body, and thero was a doep gash in the skull. Death was apparently instantaneous. At tho inquest the jury returned a verdict of accidental death, and added a rider that the attention of tho Electric Tramway Company is directed to the urgent necessity for placing protection bats on tho outside of the car windows in order to provent a recurrence of a similar accident.
