ITALY’S POSITION.

Italy has informed the American Government that she will be happy if President Roosevelt will undertake the Venezuelan arbitration ; otherwise she will not object if the points at issue are submitted to the Hague tribunal. If President Roosevelt does agree to act as arbitrator he proposes to appoint a board of arbitrators, as he himself is unable to detail the numerous claims involved.
