KIA-ORA CO-OPERATIVE DAIRYING COMPANY, LTD.
Since the formation of this Company was definitely decided upon at the meeting of milk suppliers held on the evening of Friday, the 12th inst., the directors have shown such commendable celerity in proceeding with the matter that on Saturday last everything in connection with it was finally completed, and the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies issued his certificate authorising the Company to commence business.
Applications for shares have come in freely; 2045 shares have already been subscribed, and from advices received it is anticipated that this number will be considerably increased to-day. The purely co-operative basis upon which the Company has been formed, and the excellent business facilities at its command, which ensure shareholders obtaining the fullest possible price for their supplies, must commend the undertaking to everyone in the district connected with the dairy industry. In another column will bo found an advertisement convening the statutory meeting of the Company for the ovening of Monday, the 2nd F'ebruary next, to receive the report of the Directors. It will be held in the Makauri school. At the same time and place will be held a general meeting to elect directors and an auditor.
The energy the directors have displayed, coupled with the admitted ability of their manager, Mr McGregor, should assure tho success of the venture from the start, and there is every reason to believe that tho shareholders will be well rewarded for in embarking on an their enterpi— ‘ f *>il to add undertaking which cannoi —• most materially to the prosperity of the district. “ Kia-Ora" to the Company.
