LIQUOR TRAFFIC
THE TItADE MUST HUSTLE. A VIGILANCE COMMITTEE FOBMED, By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. A fully-representative meeting of tho licensed traders, wholesale and retail, was held this afternoon, there being sixty hotel-keepers of the city and surburbs present. A long discussion took place on tho charges levelled in the press and otherwise against the conduct of tho trade, and a resolution was carried to tho effect that those present agreed to observe the law in its entirety and formed themselves into a vigilance committee to report any breaches of tho Licensing Acts. The members present further sinned an agreement binding themselves to carry out the terms of the resolution. A representative committee was appointed to draw up a report, and to suggest rules for the Government and guidance of the trade.
