SCHOOL DESTROYED BY FIRE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Waimate, last night. The school at Kapua, about five mile 3 from here, was burned down about 8 o'clock on Monday evening. Two settlerE driving past saw the dames, and found the firewood sheds attached to the school on fire. There was no water available, and the fire soon spread to the school itself, which was destroyed and all its contents. The teacher’s residence of two rooms attached to the school was also burnt, but everything the rooms contained was saved. The origin of the fire is unknown. The school broke up on Friday and no one was at school on the day of the fire. There had been a service in the building on the Sunday evening.
