TAX COLLECTOR GRIPS SAN DOW. Dv Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Laud and income Tax Department has made a demand on Sandow, tho strong man, for Income Tax, tho amount to bo assessed on his completion cf his tour of New Zhaland, and has requested payment of a deposit of X'do. This action is taken under a gazetted order of July, 190 ti, which authorises the Cotnmiss’ .or of Taxes, when ho bolieves any taxpayer carries on business in New Zealand for a short time only, to require such taxpayer to give security by way of bond.
