SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
A LIEUTENANT BADLY INJUBED 13y Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. Lieutenant Kirkhani, of the City Uilles, sustained injuries in St. Clair Baths today, which it is feared will provo fatal. No. 1 Battalion is in camp on Forbury Park. llall and Lieutenant Kirkham and other officers went for a swim in the baths. Ho took a dive, and, as ho did not rise, the othors dragged him ashoro, when it was found ho had sustained serious injury to his skull, cithor by striking tho bottom or a ledgo of rock, lie was removed to tho hospital, where he is unconscious, with little hope of "j----covery. He is a son of an Anglican clergyman who was sorno years ago stationed at Koslyn, but is not known to havo relatives in tho colonics now.
