The match, New South Wales Thirteen v. Australian Eleven, commenced in line weather, and on a difficult wicket. The attendance was poor. Tho Thirteen were disposed of for 227, the chief scores being Mackay 87, Diamond 34, and Hickson (not out) OS. The most successful bowlers were Trumper, o for IS; Saunders, 8 for oS ; Armstrong, 2 for IS ; and Hopkins, 2 for 29. RACING APPOINTMENTS.

The proprietor and publislier of the Age were each lined X'2o for contempt of court in publishing on October Ith an article calculated to imperil a fair trial to A. B. Worthington. In regard to tho charge of false pretences in the matter of John Norton, for publishing a similar article in Truth, Justice iloiroyd said he had no jurisdiction, and discharged tho rule nisi, but without costs. Sydney, Dee. 12. Admiral Beaumont leaves by the Sierra on January 19th for San Francisco. The chief officer and six of the crew of tho haryuo Zilutour, wrecked at Wallis island, arrived by the Hauroto from Fiji. Tho captain and balance of tho crew are standing by awaiting instructions iroin the owners in Norway. After striking the Zilateur was floated oil and brought to an anchorage at Mua. She has been surveyed and condemned. Sho is being kept atloat by means of windmill pumps. Fotatoes are easier in price. Local, new, are at X 9 to XlO os ; Derwent, XS. Arrived at U.lo p.in., the Zealuudia. Melbourne, Dec. 12. The body of a young butcher named Bobt. Warburtou has been found iu tho park, shot iu the head, with a revolver by tho side. Ho had committed suicide. It is beliovcd that his parents reside iu Auckland. Sailed, the s.s. Westralia, for Now Zealand.
