LICENSING MATTERS.
THE SLYGROG CASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Richard Martin was lined A'o and costs for sly-grog selling at Muratai, noar Hay’s Bay. Defendant had supplied two police probationers with bottled ale. At the quarterly meeting of the City Licensing Committee this afternoon, the inspector of "Polico said there were a few publicans in the city who kept men continually spying the movements of the polioo in order that Sunday trading might be carried on. The Chairman, Dr. Mackarthur, S.M., said that if any cases come beforo him in Court he would consider evidence of the matter referred to by the Inspector as corroborative of the charge.
