SUICIDE AT AUCKLAND.

RESULT OF A DRINKING BOUT Ly Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. A married man named Ernest Bagueley died this morning at a private hospital, under circumstances which point to suicide. It appears that deceased had been undergoing open-air treatment for consumption at the hospital, and was making rapid recovery. During the last week ho gave way to drinking bouts. At seven o clock this morning Sister Mary Agnes found the deceased suffering considerably, his mouth and lips being burnt. On the floor was a broken tumbler, ana on the washstand an empty bottle labelled “ Spirits of salts, poison." Asked what he had taken, deceased pointed to the bottle and said, 11 That bottle full.” Sister Agnes administered remedies, but shortly afterwards deceased collapsed. Dr Lowe was sent for, but on arrival could only pronounce the case as hopeless,
