SHEARER COMMITS SUICIDE.

A CRUDE WAY OF HANGING.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. Information was received in town todav that a Maori shearer named Tukuroro had hanged himself at Pourerere station on Thursday turning. It is said that tho native left tho shearers’ shed at about o a.m. yesterday, and as ho had not returned at breakfast time a search was made. A neighbour, Mr Ramsden, of Orepoto, discovered the body of tho native, who had evidently seated himself on tho ground, fastened a rope round his neck, and then tied tho othor end to a fenco, pulling back until life was oxtinct. The coroner has gone to the scene of tho fatality, and an inquest will bo hold.
