FIRE AT WANGANUI.

OLD SETTLER BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, last night. At four o’clock this morning a fire occurred in a six-roomed house at Aramoho. The house was totally destroyed, and the occupier, Mr John Walker, was burned to death. Deceased, who was 83 years of age, was very well known and was one of the oldest settlers. The house was insured for £l5O in the Commercial Union, and the furniture for £75 in the same office.
