At tho Supremo Court to day, Joseph Taylor, of Paponga coal mine, was found not guilty on two counts of misappropriating funds, by tho direction of tho Judgo on a point raised by counsol for tho dofeneo, that accused was not tho manager of tho company within tho meaning of Section 235 of tho Criminal Code. Tho third count is procooding. Miss Tendall, principal of tho Nelson Girls' College, has resigned. Sho intends visiting England. It is bcliovod her resignation is duo to delay in obtaining six months’ loavo of abseuco from tho Governors of the Collugo. Cr Bose has boon elected chairman of tho Waimoa County Council.
