By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night,

At the mooting of the Wesleyan Synod to-day, on tho motion of Rev. A. Mitchell, it was resolved: 11 That the Synod reaffirms its deep conviction that the open bar system which now obtains in connection with the liquor traffic is a serious menace to the morals and social and national wellbeing, and expresses its belief that where no-license has been carried tho results have been such as to commend it to hearty sympathy and support. Having within the boundaries of tho Synod an electoral area under “ No-license,” the Synod have abundant' evidence of its effectiveness. In consideration also of the emphatic testimony of reputable residents in Clutha, wo urge our peoplo to use their power in carring no-liceuse at the forthcoming poll."
