SHOOTING AFFRAY
GIRL SHOOTS HER LOVER. SHE KEPT HIM TO HIS PROMISE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney. Nov. 20. An extraordinary shooting affray has occurred at Cowra. A girl named Herring, shot a man named Lee, landlord of the Club Hotel.
There is littlo hope for his recovery. Herring requested it clergyman to come to the hotel for the purpose of marrying her to Lee,
When he came the girl asked Leo if he intended to keep his promise, and he said 11 No.”
Tbo girl then drew a revolver and fired two shots.
One of the witnesses to the proposed ceremony, grasped the girl, and the revolver went off again, all three shots taking effect. Lee, in his dying dispositions, admitted giving Herring causo for shooting him. Ho had taken an oath that if did not marry Herring she could shoot him.
