Napier, last night

At the Land Board to-day. re a letter from Annie and Margaret Stewart, rela live to the improvement conditions in respect of sections 17 and IS, block o, Motu, it was decided that the conditions be carried out.

Andrew Hood’s application to be allowed to withdraw from section 15, Wil-’ lows settlement, and obtain a refund of his deposit, as he did not understand tlie ballot un ier tlie Laud Settlement Act, was granted. The following applications for land were approved Man Whitmore, section 1, block 18, Nuhaka North ; 11. S. Lysnar, small grazing run 71m, llangaroa ; Francis Bates, section 14, block ti, Turanganui district (Willows) ; Benjamin Pi-etco, section 10, block lo,Wakarara district; \Ym. Graham, section 1, block 17, Nuhaloi; Junes N. Spence, section 1, block 10, Uawu district ; 11. T. Brill, section 1, block o, Uiuva district ; 11. B. Livingstone, section 22, block 8, llangaroa district ; Herbert R. Burgess, section o, block 20, Niiliuka North ; Peter Rugsted, section 1, block IG, Opoiti district; liars Olsen, section 2, block 10, Opoiti district ; Thomas Quin, section 1, block 11. Opoiti district ; S. Baker, section 4 and 11, block 15, Motu district-; Arthur Mortic-man, section 0, block 11, Alotu district. Transfer Granted : A. Anderson to J. G. and P. A. Riddle, sections 0 and 15, blocks 14 and 10, Nuhaka North. A number of settlers wore reported to the Board as being in arrears with rents, and it was decided to declare live leases forfeited, tlie others being granted an c-x----tention of time in which to pay. It was resolved to recommend the Roads Department to push on tiie road formation in Ngatapa district, as settlers were throwing up sections on account of there being no access.
